Why EET 2.0 exists

The purpose of EET 2.0 is to level the playing field and establish fair conditions for those who pay their taxes honestly.

Less red tape

You don’t need to print receipts! You don’t need to record details of the goods or services purchased, or VAT rates.

Free POS solution

We’ve developed a free web-based sales recording app for small business owners. All you need is a smartphone or similar device.

Support for taxpayers

Alongside EET 2.0, tax relief schemes (for nursery fees and students) are being reintroduced; in catering establishments, the VAT rate for non-alcoholic drinks will be 12 per cent and tips will be tax-exempt.

What’s different with EET 2.0

The new sales recording system retains the tried-and-tested rules whilst simplifying areas that were administratively burdensome for business owners.

New EET 2.0
Only the absolute minimum of data is recorded.
The obligation to print receipts is no longer required.
A free web application from the Czech Financial Administration for small businesses.
The system applies only to face-to-face payments between the customer and the business owner.
A simpler solution, developed on the basis of experience from the previous EET system and feedback from business owners.
Previous EET (until 2022)
A wider range of data was recorded, including the categorisation of sales according to VAT rates.
Printing of receipts was mandatory.
No free state-provided till solution was available for small businesses.
Records covered a wider range of payments; EET OFF had not been introduced.
Technical capabilities were more limited at that time.
